Lydia loved cuddling with Zhu. She loved how her fearless butch could be so tender, so gentle with her. So gentle, only for her. It reminded her of the time they met - Zhu had swept her off her feet immediately, with her posture and her sure swagger. Zhu had not hesitated. She hadnât shown the capability to hesitate. This meant, of course, that Zhu was gentle and soft on her behalf, because she cared about Lydia and Lydiaâs needs, and not because Zhu herself was unsure.
Zhu herself was probably never unsure in her whole goddamn life. One of the first things she said to Lydia was to claim her for her own - something Lydia never, ever regretted.
They had met in a café, of all things. Lydia was sipping on her hot chocolate with whipped cream, cupping her hands around the warm mug, idly clicking her acrylics against it. They were lavender then, a soft lavender with violets painted on them. She had tucked one blonde curl behind her ear, all the better for her dangly earring to draw attention to her neck. It was a simple, cozy café, so her outfit was just as simple - shimmery white blouse, and a simple lavender skirt, same color as her nails, and ballet flats. Dark lipstick, sharp eyeliner without eyeshadow, and mascara. She liked dressing up, yes, but she was dressing up solely for other lesbians - and, depending on her mood, herself. She wasnât really expecting to see any in this secluded café, so her outfit was elegant but understated.
Because fate loved proving her wrong, thatâs exactly when Zhu walked in.
Zhu Ting was, in one word magnificent. She strode in with the comfortable swagger of an experienced butch, shiny polished shoes and three piece suit. A stainless steel watch gleaned on her wrist, shining subtly. Sunglasses concealed her eyes, but even with them Lydia could feel the hairs on the back of her neck standing up from the fierceness of her gaze. Her three piece suit was grey and pinstriped and her button-down black - her jacket was immaculate, with powerful shoulders. She seemed powerful, determined, unreachable. Lydia didnât even register how hungrily she must have looked at her, before Zhu looked up at her with a slight eyebrow raise. She stole Lydiaâs breath away, and didnât even realize it.
Or did she?
She strode towards Lydia purposefully, tilting her head and asking âIs this seat taken?â. Lydia smiled up at her, blushing from her shoulders to her ears, and shook her head. Zhu sat down, adjusting her cufflinks subtly as she did. Was it intentional? It had to be. It had to draw Lydiaâs attention to Zhuâs hands, and how they were broad and strong and how her nails were neatly clipped. Every move of those fingers was an erotic promise. Zhuâs own eyes traveled to Lydiaâs nails immediately.
Zhu smiled, and Lydia knew it was over for her before it began, before she even learned Zhuâs name. She was, already, completely smitten.
